Founded in 2010 by Miguel Cano (b. 1987), Mr. Challenge Films is an independent audiovisual production company dedicated to telling powerful, thought-provoking stories. With five of its productions awarded at international film festivals, the company stands as a testament to Miguel’s passion for filmmaking and his commitment to inspiring change through storytelling.

Miguel Cano is a Filmmaker, Photographer, Journalist, and Activist whose work is driven by a deep belief in the power of stories to make a difference. His mission is to create impactful films that resonate with audiences, spark meaningful conversations, and contribute to a better world. In 2014, Miguel launched and directed the I Meditation Artistic Retreat in Thailand, which attracted applications from over 500 artists worldwide. Twenty selected participants spent two weeks in a sanctuary of an island in southern Thailand, meditating and creating wartworks. These pieces were later exhibited in Bangkok under Miguel’s curation, showcasing the theme: The World Will See How Peace Looks Through the Artists' Eyes.

Miguel has traveled to more than 80 countries making movies and social projects. He is currently based betweeen the South of Spain, Berlin & Zurich, where he works as Freelance Filmmaker & Photographer specialized in Corporate and Events. Alongside his professional work, he carries out social projects both independently and in collaboration with NGOs and institutions.

Miguel has self-produced eight documentary films, with his journalistic work featured in The Diplomat and his own author page at The Huffington Post.

Since April 2018, he works as Author and Video Journalist for Germany’s leading broadcaster, Deutsche Welle, where he films and co-produces mid-length documentaries. His work, particularly for the Mobility and Sports departments, consistently embraces a social and humanitarian perspective, shedding light on inspiring individuals and transformative stories.

Even beyond film and photography, writing has always been Miguel’s first love. He has published numerous journalistic articles in both Spanish and English and contributed as a blogger for various media outlets. He also hosts his own blog, The Magic is Out There, where he shares poetry, philosophy, travel journals, and multimedia content combining short films and photography.

In June 2025, Miguel will publish his first book, The Journey of Innocence, an illustrated novel for young readers.
